Asake, well known as MR MONEY signed to YBNL Nation is an Afropop and Afrobeat musician from Nigeria. Asake also popularly known as “Mr Money” is now one of the promising rising stars in the Nigerian music industry with his amazing single “Terminator” recently topping the Nigerian Apple music.
At a tender age, He discovered his musical talent. Some people said that his style of singing is similar to that of Zinoleesky, Barry Jhay, Bella Shmurda but his voice is more tender and deeper. Asake was born and raised in Lagos Metropolis, Nigeria by parents who hails from the Yoruba tribe in the western region of the country. Career
Asake has been in the game right from 2018 and his musical career progressed further in 2020 when he released the single “Mr. Money”. He later went on to release more songs including “Omo Ope” featuring Olamide that went viral and topped the Nigerian Apple Music chart as No. 1 song in the month of February, 2022.
Just because of his resilient spirit and persistence, he also earned three nominations in different categories for the City People Music Awards in 2020 and he clinched two awards out of the three with one having the title of the Most Popular Song of the Year.
Asake’s sixth single topped the Apple music charts as No 1 in Nigeria two weeks back almost the same time , he was signed into the YBNL record label. All these achievements he has been able to achieve in a short period of time is quite mind blowing and the main reason he has been tipped to become the next top star in the Nigerian music industry.
In February 2022, Asake released his debut extended project “Ololade” which serves as his breakthrough song “Omo Ope” featuring Olamide. Another hit-single which was released off the extended play would be “Sungba”. Couple of months later, we got a remixed verse from talented Nigerian artist and African Giant, Burna Boy. Asake would later go on to sign a distribution deal with Empire in July 2022.
